Student Counsellor
The Counsellor is here to support you throughout your college experience. The Counsellor can help you figure things out just by listening and not judging you. Sometimes students are frustrated about things happening in the classroom, or with their instructor. Many students have used the Counsellor to look at issues at home, with their partners, their children or anything else that is a barrier to them doing well in school.
At different times throughout the school year the Counsellor teaches workshops (some in your class, some after class). Topics include alcohol and drugs, family violence, changing, parenting, FASD, self esteem etc.
You will also see the Counsellor around campus a lot. It is the Counsellor’s job to make sure things like AC week, Graduation and Orientation are enjoyable for the students. The Counsellor works with the Student Council and the Graduation Committee for fundraising and planning.
The Counsellor also has scholarship applications. If you want to apply for a scholarship, the Counsellor has the forms and can assist you in completing them.
