An introduction to the central concepts of linguistics such as the basic analytical categories and main levels of linguistic analysis (phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics) with special attention to Indigenous languages. Students will gain expertise in transcribing and describing the sound systems of these languages, their basic word formation processes, and how sentences are structured and interpreted.
