Students in the Health and Human Services Access II course will build on the professional development process introduced in the Health and Human Services Access I course. In this course students will have the opportunity to further understand and develop the professional ethics and skills necessary for working in the community-based health and human services field. Students will have the opportunity to name and problem solve ‘external’ barriers to effective professional functioning such as legal problems, financial concerns and other lifestyle issues. Students will gain an awareness, understanding and respect for Aboriginal, Inuit and non-Aboriginal cultures and traditions. The importance of working effectively in a team environment will also be stressed. All course content will reflect northern cultural diversity.
